In EAU kitesurf become more popular but there are only a beach in Dubai where is allowed, it's on Jumeirah beach, near the Burj Al Arab.
The kiter meeting point is 1 km from Burg Al arab, face to Dubai, where the little beach road have to turn right and where there are some fisherman's boat on the beach.
The kiters reach this place around 4/5 pm to see if there is wind enough to kite.
Most of them are foreigner that works in EAU.

Equipment: In the little road behind the beach there is a very small shop, only for kiter stuff, it's opened only from 6 to 8 pm cause the owner do another's a very nice person, this is Angelo's shop telephone (050 4555216) and u can call him to have some info....there is also a wind line:

    Hi there,

We recently traveled to Dubai to escape the harsh weather of Europe and decided to take kitesurfing lessons with my boyfriend! what a good idea it was :-)
My boyfriend already tried it before but I was a bit scared because it was my first time! anyways, we met the instructor on the beach (Jumeirah beach) and started the lessons. that was so much fun, flying the small kite, setting up the whole thing together and then flying the big kite...wouah we were impressed by the power of this thing. then we started the water sessions, flying the kite in the water, body dragging and my favorite part ...surfing with your body while using the kite, that was awesome !!this guys at Kitefly Club really know what they are doing!
my boyfriend took some more lessons and eventually start riding on the board and also boought some gears back home ...i think he's addicted :-)) anyways, just wanted to thanks the instructor for taking great care of us and also recommand him to anyone who want to try out kitesurfing. his name is Xavier (french) and his website is

looking forward to some more kitesurfing in the future...

Equipment: we did have any gears with us, the school is providing on the equipment as well as water and juices

    Kite surfing

by Aphro Updated Apr 4, 2011

One of the fastest growing sports in Dubai, due to the excellent wave and wind conditions, virtual daily blue skies and warm sea temp most of the year.
There are now regular competitions and some local surfers are gaining regional and international recognition, including a few UAE nationals, women and youths.
Competitions include King of the Air Red Bull International in April and Red Bull UAE Challenge in March.

If you are interested, just go to the open beach near the University of Wollongong on the Beach Road in Jumeirah - any afternoon, you know you are in the right place if you can see the kites above the villa roofs. Then turn down the side road towards the beach. Free parking. Surfers are friendly and you can get to know them eventually; try asking for advice etc. Fantastic show!
