Winnipeg is a good place to shop. For every US$, you get over $1.50 Cdn. now. Yet, for many products, the price is the same in Cdn $ as it is in American dollars in North Dakota (ie, CD's on sale in Winnipeg cost $14 Cdn. The same CD's in Minneapolis cost $14 US - over 50% higher cost).
Winnipeg has five large malls - all are fairly new. All have food courts. Malls are St. Vital. Polo Park, Portage Place (downtown), Kildonan, and Garden City.
If you love shopping (which I don't), here are some malls you may enjoy...
-Polo Park is Winnipeg's best shopping mall, and has many clothing stores, as well as a Sears, Safeway, HMV, etc. etc.
-Portage Place Mall is Winnipeg's ailing downtown mall. It has the same kind of stores that Polo Park does.
