The Art Gallery of Hamilton (AGH) is southeastern Ontario's largest and oldest art museum, renowned for its extensive collection.
Founded in January 1914 by local art proponents, the AGH first opened to the public in June of the same year within the Hamilton Public Library building. After relocating several times, it settled at its current site on King Street West in 1977, designed by architect Trevor P. Garwood-Jones and later renovated by Bruce Kuwabara between 2003 and 2005. It now boasts over 10,000 artworks curated over a century, focusing on significant Canadian and international pieces.
