Opened in October 2017, Remai Modern is a museum dedicated to modern and contemporary art located in the dynamic River Landing area of Saskatoon.
The museum was originally conceptualized after the Mendel Art Gallery renovation plans failed in 2009. Officially formed on July 9, 2009, it was rebranded in 2016 after a significant donation from Ellen Remai. Designed by Bruce Kuwabara, the avant-garde structure comprises 11,582 square meters and features 11 gallery spaces that display a collection exceeding 8,000 works, including over 400 pieces by Pablo Picasso.
