"It’s also the place where the Margarita was invented—back in October, 1941 by bartender Don Carlos Orozco" from www.bajamagic.com/storyshow/Hussongs.html
This is more of a typical pub set up that can get pretty crowded and loud at night. During the day, you can enjoy a cold beer with mariachis playing and watch American (States' side) sports.

If you never heard of Pappas&Beers, then you’ve never heard of Mexico. You will not be able to miss this place, there is always a party going on here. (at least on the weekends)
During the day, there is no cover charge and they open up the “right hand side” of the bar. This caters to the cruise ship crowd that reminded me of a frat party, whistles going off, shots being taken, and fake boobied women dancing on table with their shirts wet.
In my experience, in the night, this place actually calms somewhat down. Cover is about $4, and beers are $3. It is more like a regular discoteque, where many of the local youth also come to party and dance. They play an assortment of music and usually have a live band. It does get crowded, but it has very friendly atmosphere.
Dress Code: Dress up a little for the night, and leave the beer drenched mess that you may be for the daytime.
Address: 102 Ruiz Ave
Directions: there are also Papas&Beers in Rosorito, TJ, Cabo and a bunch of spots.

Not really Nightlife, only a dance class during the day, the music and cheerful crowd, kept us dancing (or at least trying hard to move as cool as the rest boys-only crowd) and laughing, it's the most packed, fun and hilarious dance class ever.
Papas Y Beer is the dance club of choice and has a lot of drinks. Another good one is Senor Frog's. THere are a lot of places in this general area that both the locals and tourists jointly share. Anyone is good to go to.

Old time bar from the 1920s. Every celebrity and criminal that has visited Ensenada has been here. Toss one back where Alan Ladd and Dorthy Lamour had a drink!
Dress Code: Just about anything so long as it is clean.
Directions: Across from Papas and Beer.
I'm certainly not the only one that will tell you this....you have got to have a margarita at Hussong's. Good local flavor (in the people and drink).
