Unfortunately there are no restaurants on Alcatraz Island. But I think Alcatraz Cruises has done a nice job of providing a few good choices of food and beverages on its ferries on your ride to and from the island.
They have fresh baked goods, yogurt & granola parfaits (YUM!!) along with hot drinks for the early birds. For daytime or evening, choose from turkey & roast beef sandwiches, curried chicken salad wraps (another YUM!!) and croissant veggie sandwiches. Also Deli dogs, and nachos sound pretty good. Other snacks include ice cream bars, fruit bars, fresh baked cookies and gourmet chips. The beverage menu includes: sodas, bottled water, tea and juices; milk; hot chocolate, hot coffee and hot tea; beer and wine!! (alcohol cannot be brought on to Alcatraz Island). If you are silly enough to become intoxicated, you will not be allowed to visit Alcatraz.
Alcatraz Cruises, et al, can cater special events on Alcatraz for groups, etc.
Favorite Dish: I truly love hot dogs any place, any time. BUT, the curried chicken salad wrap and gourmet chips would make a nice picnic for me onboard or on the island!
Having a glass of wine onboard the ferry while watching the sun set over San Francisco Bay sounds appealing!
Hot chocolate warmed me up from my head to my toes when returning during the chilly evening after our evening/night tour on Alcatraz! And it does get chilly even in Summer!

Although rumor has it that the food on Alatraz was, in fact, very good, the dining room has been long closed. The park service does not sell food or beverages of any kind on the island. Those in need of food drink or alcoholic beverages should take advantage of the concession stand on the ferry boat, as you can purchase all of the above during the 10-15 minute ride to and from the island.
Favorite Dish: The menu didn't look all that appetizing to me and the cold, sterile atmosphere of the large room left a lot to be desired.

This, of course, is a joke. Just thought this would be a great place to put a picture of the dining hall where the Alcatraz inmates ate their meals. Lots of fights happened during chow time, it's pretty quiet now.
Favorite Dish: The menu board from the last meal served there was still proped up by the kitchen. The last meal was spaghetti!
