Whether for business or pleasure, the Anaheim Convention is worth checking out. Just across from a Disneyland entrance (along Katella Ave), the venue attracts hundreds of thousands each year, many for business and commercial trade shows/expo- namely NAMM (music industry invited only), VidCon, Harvest Festival and Natural Products Expo( food/health industry invited only). I have worked here often, covering (of all things), cheerleading competitions and other events! Occasionally there are concerts and NCAA sports tournaments here also. Check calendar on website for other special events.
Now, special attention to this paragraph. FOOD!! Convention walking builds an appetite. An array of food and beverage is on-site and at the nearby hotels, albeit a bit pricey for some basic items ($7+ for simple a-la-carte style food like hamburgers and hot dogs even! Really!). Finding a cheap soda or water bottle is about impossible. Within the convention halls (not in the public lobby areas) are some soda machines, however depending on the event, access to them is limited. For those who need their coffee in the morning, do try Eco Grounds, an exclusive café with highly impressive (read: expensive) gourmet choices. There is also a Starbucks at the Hilton (lobby area). Within an easy walking distance of convention along Katella Ave, do find the 7-11, at Harbor Blvd where you will find the $1 drinks, $2 hot dogs and several other meals and snacks at a great value at and under $5. Kissing the ground of 7-11 there afterwards is optional! :-)
Also on TRANSPORTATION!! Parking is a steep at $12 per day. Expect no free reentry parking as a typical visitor either. There is virtual no street parking in the immediate area. Do consider taking a bus to the center if able (OCTA route 50 is the best; also OCTA 43, 543, and 83, as well as a few Anaheim Resort Transportation [ART] buses). Taxis are plentiful at the convention to take (See picture). Yellow cabs are central here on along Convention Way and so many run along Harbor Blvd and Katella Ave that one can hail one from the street (not a very common site in Orange County and even greater Los Angeles).
the anaheim convention center is a destination for many business travelers to anaheim. this state of the art facility is the largest convention center in california. of additional interest to business travelers to anaheim is it's proximity to honda center and disneyland. also a number of good business class hotels are walking distance to the convention center. i personally have attended trade shows in convention centers all over the country and i was very impressed by this facility.
