  • High Desert - Hot Days, Cool Nights

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Be sure to bring pants, sweatshirts and a jacket even in the middle of July or August. The evenings can be quite cool, especially after a day over 100. There is very little rain so wet weather gear is not necessary.

Photo Equipment: Believe me, you will want to have a camera with you!

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: There is a full service camp ground in Bishop, and there are several others in the surrounding areas. There are also many primitive sites.

What's that hot yellow orb in the sky?

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Luggage and bags: Daypack with at least a litre of water. If you are hiking, you'll need at least 3 litres.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Nights can get cool, even in summer. Bring a long sleeved shirt at the very least. If you are headed into the mountains, bring some layers - synthetics are good, even in Summer.

    Wide brimmed hat

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: SUNBLOCK and LIPBALM. We have 15 percent humidity here, so your skin will start to fall off no matter what you do. Block and balm will help stave off the inevitable.

Photo Equipment: Yes, our camera shops can download your digital pictures onto disc.
