Hollywood Boulevard Tips (3)

Hollywood Boulvard: Hollywood never sleeps

Hollywood never sleeps. There are always people around. many tourists taking pictures and walking around. Personally I haven't seen any night clubs around Hollywood Blvd but I am sure there are some near by. A local resident could tell that more.

Dress Code Dress very comfortably and do not put on anything elegant of fancy. You will get tired quick from all the walking around. It was getting dark and we crossed the street when I looked up and saw this huge Dinosaur behind a building. very interesting.

One of the many parties found...

One of the many parties found on New Year's Eve 2002- Centre of the Universe on Hollywood & Vine
A nutty, crazy, insane night of partying, dancing and carousing. This was the 2nd annual event to raise money for many local charities such as the Hollywood Youth Council, The Braille Institute and the Hollywood Boys and Girls Club (to name a few) though I will admit that this wasn't our reason for going. A ferris wheel and three stages with DJ's such as Paul Oakenfold, DJ Irene and Deep Dish spinning until 5am. What a wacky night!

Dress Code Anything and I mean ANYTHING! The furry coats and hats landed us on the 11 o'clock news which was pretty cool.

The Burgundy Room: You'll never know its there ...

This little punk-rock bar has been around for a while. It is now surrounded by all the other bars of the "Cahuenga Corridor" ... but you won't find most of those mall-type Paris Hilton folk here. The doorman holds the door open for regulars and folks that just wanna get a drink. If you show too much pretension at the door, you'll have to wait in line.

Back in the day, they used to catch the bar on fire. I don't know what happened with that. I'm guessing that the shtick went away with the smoking ban? The crowd varies. Sometimes its packed to the gills, others ... mellow. Inside, you'll find regulars, rockstars, tourists (who can find the place!) and an occasional appearence from the Jackass crew.

Leave your attitudes in W. Hollywood. The bathrooms are dirty - get used to it! This is a place to get drunk, listen to DJs play great punk rock mixed with the standard rock-n-roll.

Wednesday nights are great with Loomis ...

Dress Code Rock-n-roll, Pajamas, whatever you want ... be ready to "pogo" at some point in the night!
