Georges At The Cove is situated above the cliffs of La Jolla, overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Downstairs is an elegant dining room. One would dress nicely to dine here, though casual is not frowned upon. The food is excellent and the service is efficient. The best wines are offered and any celebration would be a success! It's a bit pricey here, but well worth it.
AND----for those not in the mood for the finest dining around, can go upstairs to the bar, sit out on the deck and have a wonderful meal while watching the movements of the ocean! The prices are moderate and the food is good.
I have had lunch, dinner and brunch here and each time I have enjoyed the atmospher and the food very much.
I will mention that if your interest is in having a view, stop here for lunch or brunch or a very early dinner during the summer. During the later hours it is too dark to see the view.
Favorite Dish On the Terrace I like to order the Roasted Pork Loin Sandwich and Georges Famous Soup. The prices out on the deck are more reasonable for the average budget.
Downstairs in the formal dining room start with Oysters On The Half Shell and then Pan Roasted Free Range Chicken Breast. The prices here are higher, but normal for this type of dining.
If it's a special occasion the Maine Lobster is wonderful and Champagne is $25.00 - $300.00 a bottle.
Both up stairs and down they menu are nice and it doesn't matter what you order, it will be very good!
Located in the middle of downtown La Jolla, George's has a beautiful rooftop dining area that is perfect for breakfast or lunch.
Favorite Dish Try the yummy hamburger, or awesome fish burger!
The fries are crispy and the best!
George's Upstairs has been one of my favorite special restaurants since I was a kid. The downstairs is far too classy for everyday people's everyday meals, but the upstairs is a relaxed (but still very nice) open air restaurant that overlooks La Jolla Cove. I'd recommend it for a nice night out, but make sure its a nice day, or it can get cold and breezy.
Favorite Dish You HAVE to start with the Black Bean, Turkey, and Brocolli soup. It is one of my favorite foods of all time, and I would eat ten bowls of it if I could. If you can't tell, I highly recommend this soup. If you start with it though, you just might not want anything else. (But everything else is good too! I like the porkchop)
This is consistently voted as San Diego's best restaurant. A beautiful setting includes your choice of indoor or outdoor dining on the Ocean Terrace. What a view!
