    Forty Deuce: Forty Deuce

    by Erin74 Written Feb 24, 2004

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Forty Deuce is a trendy nightclub located in Hollywood, right across from Paramount Studios. Long popular as "Kane's", the club has been given new life as a burlesque bar and renamed Forty Deuce. It's an odd spot: painted a garish pink/purple and located next to an auto repair shop (half-fixed cars surround the club).

It was recently featured on an episode of "Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica".. it's the club where Nick has his 30th birthday party and Jessica jumps out of the cake.

The interior of Forty Deuce is designed to evoke a “back-alley, striptease lounge,” feeling. It features vintage brass registers, a low bar with lounge chair seating and cocktail tables creating a sexy vibe. The back bar, a pyramid of cocktail glasses and aperitifs, hydraulically lowers into the stage and disappears before each show.

Forty Deuce is all about the dancing girls... but these are not the strippers of modern day strip clubs. They are trained, professional dancers, doing long, slow strips from an era gone by, when erotic dance was an art form. Imagine Gypsy Rose Lee.

This is a very popular spot at the moment and it can be hard to get in. Your best bet: dress sexy, look like you belong and get there on the early side-- before the bouncers get really picky.

    Forty Deuce: Burlesque Clubbing!

    by kimberlyfisher1 Updated Aug 28, 2007

Sexy Los Angeles Nightlife would have to include Ivan Kane's Forty Deuce Club of off Melrose Ave. in the heart of Hollywood. The atmosphere is more loungy, than clubby, and the burlesque shows are amazing.

Young, edgy, see and be seen bar...a different type of LA nightlife.

    Reservations strongly recommended!
