Downtown Napa, Napa
Napa Vine bus service started a commuter route between Sonoma and Napa. There are three buses in the morning and three more in the evening. We leave the Sonoma plaza on the last a.m. bus at 10:35. We arrive in downtown Napa at 11:05. We wander around town stopping at restaurants and clubs eating and drinking our way through the afternoon. We have our choice of returning to Sonoma at 3:00, 4:30 or 5:15. We can drink and eat and then return home without worrying about driving after imbibing. The cost is $1.50 per person each way. Could be the best deal in all of Wine Country.

Napa, first settled by Americans around 1830 and incorporated in 1872, today has about 70,000 residents. Today Napa is the heart of California wine country, and the city claims more pre-1906 buildings than any other town in the Bay Area.
The city of Napa also shares its name with the Napa Valley and Napa County (not to mention NAPA Autoparts!).
