Dante's is located at Pier 39, along with several other restaurants and shops. It looked nice from the outside, and the menu posted at the front door was reasonably priced. I guess it shold have told us something when there was a wait for most other restaurants at the pier, but Dante's was virtually empty. We went in (two of us), and it was downhill from there. The ONLY employee in the entire establishment that even remotely acted like they cared about the guests was the bus boy. Our waitress could not have even acted any less interested. We sat sometime for 10 minutes with empty glasses, with no waitress in sight. I then watched her go outside to smoke, for about 10 minutes, and then come back in to serve us our food - which had been sitting under a lamp waiting for her to pick it up. She hadn't even taken the time to wash her hands. While we sat waiting on refills, etc., the manager walked by several times, looked our way, and never once acknowledged us. The food itself was fairly good, although what I ordered did not come as it was described on the menu. Overall, it was a very bad experience. On the plus side, it did have great views, a nice interior, and seemed to be clean.
Beautiful views of the bay from this glass restaurant. We saw huge portions coming out of the kitchen & opted to share a seafood platter with New England Clam Chowder & soup. More than enough delicious food. Friendly staff, good service.
Favorite Dish The seafood platter was amazing, enough for two!
There are many great restaurants in San Francisco. At dinner time, we were at Pier 39 and in the mood for seafood. We tried Dante's Seafood Grill. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere with a great view of the Bay. The seafood was very fresh. The specialty here was Dungeoness Crab.
I like the name. Unfortunately, our company dinner was held elsewhere. I should try eating here sometime. The place looks good. And because it's on Pier 39, the ambience is really nice.
Favorite Dish Probably pasta if I had the chance. it's an Italian restaurant after all.
Not the best view, but by far, the nicest place on the Pier with the best food. It is a two story place w/ a loungy downstairs area great for appetizers and drinks while the upstairs part is ideal for an intimate dining experience.
Favorite Dish You MUST try their lobster. If you're going to go to a seafood restaurant that's as highly rated as this one, you must get the lobster...or the King Crab Legs. Yummy!!!
