Zoomars Petting Zoo Tips (1)

Zoomars Petting Zoo & Bird Park

This is a great place to take your kids to while in San Juan Capistrano. The price of admission has gone up since I was last there, but also more attractions have been added.

The petting zoo is a great way for children to learn to be gentle with animals such as chickens, pigs, rabbits and guinea pigs. The can learn to be careful around larger animals like llamas, cows, goats, sheep, alpaca, donkey and horses, which can be safetly ridden.

There is an extra charge for riding ponies, a mini-train or mining for treasure, but all of these are quite exciting and worth the cost.

This has the atmosphere of a working farm rather than a typical zoo or amusement park. It is more casual, but the "keepers" are keen on safety for the child and the animal so we can all learn here too.
