Downtown Tips (1)

Downtown Santa Clara

Yes, Santa Clara actually does have a downtown. And that place is centered by the Franklin Mall. When I was a young boy I used to collect stamps. And the best stamp store was located in the Franklin Mall. I hated to go there as it was a really mangy neighborhood. But a lot has changed over the years. The stamp store is this there, but now there are cool restaurants and shops, and one of the best known bakeries in the city, Wilson's Bakery.

The City recently commenced another reconstruction of another part of the mall, with a ribbon cutting ceremony by the mayor and the whole works. For a relatively small town like Santa Clara, it was a rather big deal. The fact that our downtown is basically a mall is strangly appropriate.

Also, not to be missed are the two smelly dive bars located in the mall. Just another piece of the suburban pie!
