"Begin your tour with pickup by Hummer at your hotel in Santa Barbara or Solvang and head off on a 7-hour wine-fueled tour through the vineyards on the central coast of California. This area became famous thanks to the wine-centric movie Sideways which was filmed here. You’ll see some of the movie locations and much more. You won’t be shuttled to free wine tastings. On this tour you’ll be taken to high-quality tastings that guests pay a fee to attend (included in tour cost). Visit four wineries cruising to each in either an open-air or a luxury enclosed Hummer. Andersens Tips (3)

Andersens: Pea soup heaven

While Anderson, famous for the Split Pea soup,is close by,it is not in Solvang, but in Buellton, but fear not,if you are on the main highway, coming either from the south or the north, you have to drive right thru here,so why not stop, and see what all the hub is about. It's the soup!.
Now,for a great place to eat in Solvang, that is tuff, there is so many, but I always eat,at least once why I am there, and that is Manny's,great Mexican food, after all day of great danish food and scrumptous desserts, this seems like a great choice.
So,if you are lucky to be here in the spring, summer or early fall, eat outside on the patio.

Favorite Dish I always go for the Cheese enchilada, and of course,Pina Colada's.

Andersens: Hap-pea Soup!

A perennial favorite in our household. Whenever we head up highway 101 we always stop at Andersen's.

Rarely have we ever had to wait. One time we had a large party of 10 and they were able to accomodate us in 15 minutes.

The quaint Danish town of Solvang is just a few miles from Andersen's so if you need accomodations for the night Andersen's is also a Best Western Motor Inn.

Favorite Dish The split pea soup is what we stop for BUT my husband likes their milk shakes. They also have a wonderful bakery, the cookies are to die for!!

If pea soup is not your thing, no worries. Andersen's has an extensive menu that is sure to please the pickiest eater.

Anderson's: Anderson's

Favorite Dish The stuffed mushrooms! They are these great little things stuffed with cheese and then baked. They are to DIE for!! Anderson's is famous for it's split pea soup. You'll see their billboards everywhere and their split pea soup is definitely good, but the mushrooms....(no, not THAT kind!).
