Do NOT buy food/groceries or do clothes shopping anywhere near yale. They will overcharge you.

    Unique Suggestions: ?

Fun Alternatives: TRy and hold out and drive to Hamden Plaza - 15 mins away and go to Stop n Shop or Shaws for food and either Clinton or Tanger Outlets along the Shoreline or the Post Mall in Milford.

  • Sally'ss and Pepe's -- not worth the wait!

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

While Sally's and Pepe's on Wooster St. may be the famous places for pizza, they simply are not worth the frequent 1 - 2 hour wait (depending when you go and how many people are in your group). Also, be aware that ALL they serve is pizza- if someone at your table wants something else, they will be out of luck.

Personally, I think their pizza is way too oily too. Did you know that the "secret" of New Haven pizza is to pour olive oil directly on top?

Unique Suggestions: If you insist on going, either go really early (like 5 PM) or really late (after 9?).

Fun Alternatives: If you want excellent New Haven thin crust pizza, try Modern Apizza on State St. They may have a wait but it won't be nearly as long as the Wooster Street places and there are other options of things to eat.
