Since Joe and I are huge parrotheads (we go to at least 1 Buffett concert a year), visiting Margaritaville in Key West was not even a question. We stopped on in after an evening of drinking on a tall ship. We did not have to wait long for a table. Ordered "Cheeseburgers in Paradise" served with great fries. It was made just like the song says "I like mine with lettuce and tomato, Heinz Fifty-seven and French fried potatoes." And did some major damage in the attached store (warning- shop before you imbide or it can be quite expensive). Joe had the requisite margarita while I tried out one of the other frozen concoctions.
The place itself is a tribute to Jimmy. It has too levels and if very open- making it a good place to take a family for dinner but still be able to order an adult cocktail.
We were hoping to see Jimmy when we there there as he is known to stop by when he is in town. He had been there the prior week but was already off to the Carribbean.
According to local legend, behind the bar the staff keeps the Buffett Bible - a quasi-encyclopedia of his song lyrics.
