The Wolfsonian museum offers a diverse collection of objects related to late-nineteenth and twentieth centuries - nationalism, political persuasion, industrialization, architecture and urbanism, consumerism and advertising, transportation, and world's fairs.
The Wolfsonian Musuem. If there is a little rain in South Beach, here is a place to visit. This museum is mainly comprised of many items that a rich heir to a fortune built on movie theatres ,Mitchell Wolfson,Jr. collected over his lifetime. Some of it is a little strange, but it is interesting. There is art deco furniture, movie posters , stained glass windows etc. The coolest item was a winding wooden staircase built without supports
The price of admission is $5 . Photography is prohibited inside the museum. For opening times, check the website listed.
Ok so Miami is not culturally driven, but if you enjoy visiting museums you might want to check what exhibition the Wolfsonian is having.
The Wolfsonian is a museum located in the heart of South Beach that belongs to FIU (Florida International University). It has an interesting permanent collection, but much better exhibitions that usually run for 6-7 months. The art deco building also makes your visit worthwhile....
