Beachfront Activities Tips (6)

Beachfront Activities: Fireworks of Hilton Hawaiian Village on Fridays

It was beautifully done. There was the performance near hotel’s largest swimming pool. Nice girls danced Hawaiian dances with those slow waving of their thighs, then all lights were off and darkness covered the beach. I thought they have technical problems with lights, even more I was scared when I heard shooting behind my back. I turned around and saw beautiful fireworks just above my head. Really great job!

If you are on Waikiki on Friday, definitely go and watch.

Dress Code Not naked, too many people, unless you will hide yourself in the water

Beachfront Activities: HAWAIIAN VILLAGE --- AT NIGHT

Every night, the Hilton Hawaiian Village had a torch-lighting ceremony. People came from other hotels just to watch this amazing ceremony. Young men in Hawaiian attire run throughout the grounds lighting all the torches and then there is a short show with Hawaiian dance and music. Every Friday night is "King's Jubilee Celebration" complete with Polynesian extravaganza and oceanside fireworks display. Usually after the shows, we went for a walk on the promenade along the beach where many folks were enjoying the evening.

Beachfront Bar: Duke

The Duke offers varieties of food & beverages. The ambience was magnificent as the outlet facing the beach and throngs of people. The staffs were friendly and helpful. The last time i was there, i bumped into "mini-me" from The Spy who shagged me. It was totally awesome.

Dress Code as you are.

The whole Waikiki beach strip: Walk along Waikiki

While I'm not much of a night life person, I would recommend a walk along Waikiki Beach front road ... the attractions along the sidewalk are quite entertaining, and the atmosphere suggests tropic vacation especially if you're able to catch one or two of the free hula shows along the way! Don't forget to get a snapshot of yourself at the Duke Kahanamoku statue! Be careful ... theft and high pricing run rampid here.

Dress Code Casual, with comfortable shoes.

Queen's Surf, Sunset on the Beach: Sunset and a Movie!

Meet the locals and tourists alike at Queen's Surf in Waikiki each Saturday and Sunday (check current schedule) for a great sunset and FREE movie on the beach! Come early and enjoy your meal on the beach too ... there are many vendors there from 4pm ready to serve up your evening meal or snack! Thanks to KauaiGirl's write up on this event, I was eager to check it out ... take her word for it ... it's a fun way to spend the evening.

Dress Code Come as you are! Maybe a longsleeve shirt for cooler nights, but definitely casual! Bring a lawn chair or beach towel to sit on, or if you're lucky enough, there are many chairs there already.
