While most people think Tufts University is in Somerville or Boston, a large part of the main campus actually falls within the city of Medford.
It is a beautiful campus with lovely historic buildings and pleasantly shaded walkways. We especially enjoy strolling around the grounds on summer evenings.
In September, we highly recommend the annual Community Day at Tufts. Complimentary lunch is paired with performances by various student groups and lots of fun activities for children and adults alike. Also, several of Tufts art galleries are open to the public on Communicty Day.
Now designated a National Historic Landmark, the Royall House was the home of Isaac Royall and Isaac Royall Jr. during until they fled back to England during the Revolutionary war.
You can take a guided tour of the house, nearby slave quarters and the surrounding grounds to see and hear all about the house's amazing history.
