STILLWATER Tips (4)

Axdahl's Garden Farm

If you're visiting during the fall harvest are in the market for a pumpkin...consider taking a little side trip to Axdahl's Garden Farm. We always get our pumpkins and apples here and take lots of pictures. You can borrow a wagon to pick your own or you can grab a pre-picked pumpkin from the barn. There's also small petting zoo and a gift shop. You can even go inside their silo and sit for awhile. Our favorite photo op is the VW bug that's painted like a jack-o-lantern. It's alway up front so you can miss it. The best thing about his place is that it's not as busy as the other ones on the same street. Aamodt's is right down the road and that place is always a zoo.

They're located @ 7452 Manning Avenue

Stillwater.. a quaint little town

This is really not as small of a town as it might appear to be. There is essentially one main street, and the other street which runs parallel to the river.
There are all sorts of cute little clothing boutiques, knick knack shops, and the like. Finding something both cheap and good to eat here is a challenge.
They have a co-op on the main street, which is about as close as one will get to a grocery store within the actual Stillwater downtown area. There is a huge strip with the usual Wal-Mart, mega grocery store, and chain restarants on the way into town. I don't know when it becomes technically Stillwater, but soon after the strip.
Sit and have lunch by the river, and go to the book stores, they are rather impressive.

Stillwater is a unique town...

Stillwater is a unique town worth visiting. It is situated on the St. Croix River about 30 miles NE of Minneapolis. It's an excellent spot to hit when you just want the world to slow down a bit. Antiques and ice cream too!http://www.stillwaterguide.com
