Extreme Sports, Las Vegas
There are many skate parks through out the city for the kids to use. Many of the parks have classes on how to grind and 360 and do all of the other tricks.
Some of the parks can be very busy around 4 pm and you can find some real good skaters.
Equipment: The parks are open to skate boards, roller blades, roller skates and bikes.
Just 30-40 (depending on traffic) minutes from the center of casino town is an amazing rock climbing area, containing everything from overbolted short sport climbs to long multi-pitch traditional routes.
Equipment: Rock climbing gear, sunscreen and a good guide to climbing there! We used the Falcon Guide "Rock Climbing Red Rocks" by Todd Swain (available at climbing stores or on the internet from on-line climbing stores).
If you search on the internet you can find many personal web sites which reference this giant area, and explain much more about it than is possible here. There is enough climbing to keep you busy for years!
Address: Hwy 159 West from Las Vegas
Directions: Take the loop road, and pick a pull out. The road is in one direction. Don't forget it takes awhile to get out if you stop at the first pullout and the park is about to close!!
vegas has alot of sporting activities to cater to anyone..bungee jumping, sky diving, rock climbing, etc....
if you wanna catch a baseball game we have a triple a minor league team affiliated with the los angeles dodgers our las vegas 51's... take a bike ride through red rock canyon navagating the scenic loop.. but my favorite sporting past time has to be fishing, and we have plenty to offer in that department.. 45 minutes north of las vegas is tulee springs, they have 3 lakes offering trout fishing and bass. lake mead offers a few charter fishing trips, but do it on your own it's more adventurous that way!
This is so much fun. You feel like you are floating. This is a picture of my brother on his turn in the tunnel.
Equipment: Remove all jewlery, watches, and anything in your pockets or it becomes a flying weapon.
Red Canyon is close to Old Nevada little open zoo area.. Layers of red, yellow and grey rock are not only great to admire from a side, but also climb... (well, maybe just a bit : ))) )
Directions: about 30 miles from LV
