Jazz Fest Concert Series and Fish Fry
"Located in a restored 1800's Victorian Brownstone building in a Historical Landmark area of Bedford Stuyvesant. This concert series is hosted in a salon style acoustic sound room. The feel of being in your own home with your shoes off with an authentic jazz vibe. Imagine retreating back to a different time and spend the evening in an intimate setting. You'll experience the enjoyment of a live Jazz Concert a Southern Fish Fry Buffet and lastly an open mic to delight your palette. An upright grand piano such as the ones once used to create some of today's classic jazz tunes on Pan Alley Row grouped alongside other acoustic style instruments make up what is called THE ROOM.During the 1930's perhaps even earlier one didn't have to go to Manhattan for the jazz scene Brooklyn had one of it's own. Bedford Stuyvesant had the largest Jazz neighborhood in Brooklyn. It held many venues that housed jazz greats like Thelonius Monk Randy Weston Miles Davis

Car Service Tips (3)

the Park Slope area - Arecibo Car Service

Sometimes you just have to take a car as the subway won't do. Arecibo is king in the Park Slope area. Give them a ring and they should be to you within five minutes. Expect longer waits on the weekends, especially late at night when all the people who are out are trying to get around.

Oh yes. Don't be surprised if you get rather "speedy" service shall we say, once you are in the car.

the Williamsburg area - Northside Car Service

Another car service for Brooklyn, but this one is based in Williamsburg. They are usually very quick and will take you wherever you want to go. A ride into the city is short and not too expensive as long as you aren't going really far. If you have a group of people, why drop $2 a person to ride the subway when you can drop $3 or $4 and go anywhere you want in the Lower East Side or East Village area.

Take the train...but if not...CAR SERVICE

It's really hard to get a cab in Brooklyn, but, you can get a car service anytime, and they will take you anywhere. They are usually pretty fair, but always ask how much it's going to be when you first get in the car. A good estimate is that anywhere local should be from $4-6, trips from Brooklyn to Manhattan will run about $12, and airport trips are fixed at $18 to LGA and $28 to JFK.
