    2 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Sunday dinner and Open Chicken Sandwiches or Daisy's Friday Fish Fry.
Saturday evening and your get live local entertainment.

This bar and grill is a great family place to go. The staff is courteous, the service is good except when it gets busy on Friday, the food is prepared to order and delicious.
The decor is American restaurant with metal backed chairs and white table clothes.
The atmosphere is casual and comfortable. You can order a drink from the bar while you
wait for your order if you choose.

Dinner for two for $20; you can't beat that.

    community growth

During its industrial period, Ontario had a growth period that expanded its core population into several cohesive communities based on industry, economic status and heritage. These communities continue today even though most of the industries have disappeared.

    The communities in Ontario include:
Bear Creek... on route 101 (old iron ore port)

Fruitland... farming area on route 104

Furnaceville... on route 110 (old site of iron ore smelting furnaces)

Lakeside... hamlet on route 102 (near but not on the lake)

Ontario Center... village at the intersection of route 104 and route 350

Ontario on the Lake... hamlet on the lake on Lake Road

    no problems

by davecallahan Written Apr 27, 2007

Ontario is almost crime free. Sure, they have a few teenagers who get frisky, and a few speeders and maybe a drunk who gets into a fight once in a while. But as far as the crime statistics report is concerned, Ontario is squeaky clean; very safe. No violent crimes on record; few non-violent crimes. Only 4 sex offenders registered in all 10000 residents in the area.

If you just do the things to be safe that you do when you are at home, then you certainly will have a pleasant visit to Ontario.

    Greystone Golf Club

Wide open fairways, greens are bent grass, rough is tough and dry in summer (going to cost you a stroke). The course is up-and-down with rolling fairways and several doglegs (hate them, you can't judge the green). Tees and greens are elevated on some holes and at least three holes have water to contend with.

There is a fine driving range with putting green and chipping area.
You can get refreshments and finger foods at the snack bar after your round to refill your tank.

A round of 18 will cost $35 on the weekend plus $10 more for a cart.

Equipment: Dress code is collared short, dress pants or shorts (no tee-shorts or cutoff pants)
