    Do not feed the bloody bears.....

    Yep there are bears there and they are
    not dangerous at all as long as they
    don't get accustomed to humans to much
    by being fed....

    When I was there last time the rangers
    were out hunting and shooting one cause
    it had attacked a kid. (the kid seems to
    be ok, from what I've been told)

    Mind your footing!

    Do be careful when hiking around, especially by the water. When we visited the Raymondskill Falls there were warnings about the uneven footpaths, as well as the Falls themselves. At one point by the falls, of which there are actually three, there was a small private 'memorial', which appeared to indicate that at some time, not so long ago, someone, or some people actually fell in here and drowned (more likely killed by the rocks).

    Another danger is from the exposed roots of the Hickory Trees, which stick up all along the paths. It would be very easy for a young child, in particular, to trip over these roots.
