I'll be writing more soon (I need to do more "research"!), but for now I want to say that the staff are fantastic, the women's restroom is the best-decorated in town (I haven't seen the men's!), the wall of celebrities will get you and your friends talking, and if you appreciate garlic, this is the place to go!
The decor reminds me of what I imagine the hippest haunts of the 1960s were like: metallic-flecked countertop at the bar, subdued lighting, and cozy seating (maybe a little TOO cozy for the claustrophobes in the audience; also, you'll want to make a reservation). The crowd is diverse, ranging from college students to suburbanites to the business elite. There are usually sports on the telly. Satellite radio provides a good variety of musical stylings to stimulate the palate and the mood. Best of all, the staff provide an all-too-rare glimpse into what customer service is really about. Anyone staying for a meal will probably be greeted and asked for their opinion of the food (by the star of the cooking show!).
Franco's is connected to some other cool local enterprises, too, including Joanna's Italian Bakery, a red sauce that's commercially available at area grocery stores and through the restaurant's website, a cooking show, and catered events with live music on the Hiawatha paddle boat.
Favorite Dish: Definitely try the angel hair with marinara (I'm a simple girl with simple tastes). I also love the clams simmered in white wine and garlic. I could have happily made a meal of those mollusks! Mmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!

Interesting Local Brewery with some award winning brews. Better menu than the typical brewery burger joint, very flavorful menu.
Centrally located and just across the street from the Genetti Hotel it is a good choice, and often the music is loud so I wouldn't recommend going if you are planning on having a deep conversation during your meal.
