The Samuel Whitehorne House is a very nice example of the Federal style of architecture and is another quite interesting museum in Newport. It was completed in 1811 and is filled with a great collection of 18th and early 19th Century furnishings, art and antiques collected by famous local Doris Duke. Hours are 10:30 AM to 3 PM Thursday through Monday from May through October. Admission is $12 for a guided tour and $6 for a self-guided tour. Free for kids 12 and under. The Whitehorne House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
