Coolidge Park, Chattanooga

OMG...I wish I had a kid with me so I could have an excuse to Ride the Merry go Round..I loved this carousel...it is under roof in a building to keep it GORGEOUS!!!
The art work is amazing...I can't wait until my little Niece Dakota Rose visits this upcoming Spring Break..she is 3 and says riding the Carousels make her feel like a Fairy Princess...me too Dakota...me too and I am almost 50!!!!

The rides are only $1 each...

I am a fan of this park on the Northside of Chattanooga...plenty of parking in the pay lot..only $1 for an hour $2 for four hours and $4 all day...great bargain and walking distance to the Park..to the Walnut Street Bridge, and to Frazier Street....
The park has plenty of playing area..great views of the river, great views of downtown Chattanooga, outside amphitheater area for bands, socccer or ballgames...a great fountain for little ones to enjoy, and a Carousel...a wonderful carousel from 1894...
A must and its FREE!!

Coolidge Park is located on the Northshore at the base of the Walnut Street Bridge in downtown Chatanooga. This 13-acre retreat was established in 1999, and it includes trails, fountains, a pavilion, a canoe and kayak launch, and a restored historic carousel. The carousel frame dates back to about 1895, but the animals are more recent replacements for the originals.

Coolidge Park honors World War II Medal of Honor recipient Charles H. Coolidge. Coolidge was born in Signal Mountain, Tennessee, today a suburb of Chattanooga. He earned the nation's highest medal in 1944 in France, when he led his men for four days against superior enemy forces. Charles Coolidge is in his 90s and still resides in Chattanooga.

Coolidge Riverside Park, named for Charles Coolidge, recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor during World War II, is a delightful setting for either rest or recreation. There are beautifully landscaped grounds, walkways, and a magnificent fountain that my grandchildren absolutely LOVE to play in on a hot summer day. You will also find restrooms, concessions and a carousel. The park is especially popular with young families - as well as young lovers.

One of the favorite stops in Chattanooga for my grandchildren, Nicholas and Alexandria, is the magnificent old completely restored carousel at Coolidge Riverside Park. Rides are only $.25, and the lines are usually short. Grownups may enjoy the merry-go-round too.

Coolidge Park is a wonderful park across the river from downtown Chattanooga. There is a huge lawn to play games on, a carousel, and fountains that kids love to play in. It is one of the nicest parks I have seen in a long time.

Coolidge Park is located on the riverfront on the Northside of Chattanooga, TN..it is great park and a great location.
