    Fred Hartman Bridge

The Fred Hartman bridge is currently the world’s second largest cable-stayed bridge in terms of overall deck area. It is jointly owned by the cities of Baytown and LaPorte which it connects.

Let me end by saying that there are really no "Must See Activities" in Baytown, but this bridge gives you a good view of Exxon/Mobile refineries and should show you that Baytown is mostly filled with industrial smokestacks.

    C&D Grocery: Real Mexican Burritos

by pumarega Updated Jul 18, 2005

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

C&D Grocery is a Grocery store and a Mexican kitchen. The store has mainly spanish branded goods with some general american staples (such as Coke, Doritos, Cans of Soup, Rice, and Breads) but the point of this place is the kitchen in the back.

The kitchen serves some of the best burritos in Texas. They have the ingredients layed out on heaters behind the place where you order. You can get a wide assortment of meats, sausages, beans, egg, cheese to create your burrito with, you just have to specify how you want it done.

If you don't know any spanish, you shouldn't have too much of a problem (point at what you want) but it's easier if you know how to say egg (huevo), cheese (queso), ham (jamon -pronounced hamon) etc..

Favorite Dish: I usualy get a sausage + egg and cheese burrito if Im in a breakfast mood. Any other time I go with the steak + bean cheese combination.

It's good stuff, and if you ever find yourself in Baytown, then it's worth the trip.
