La Madeline Tips (5)

La Madeleine: Mearly an Imitation

This was a great restaurant before it was packaged up and simplified for mass expansion. Some locations are better than others though (Preston Forest, Preston Center, Highland Park SMU). Easy to fall into and just have a small bite to eat or Tea. Many locations have a fireplace and have a homely feel. Good for breakfast or brunch, but nothing memorable and the service is often noticeably poor. The bakery is pretty good with fresh pastries and cookies according to season.

Favorite Dish Potato Gallet, Chicken Pesto Pasta, French Onion soup, Chicken Friand

La Madeline: A very nice & cozy French cafe

The la Madeleine we went to was the one inside the Dallas Galleria mall. It's located on the lower level, the same level as the ice skating ring is. It's a very nice & relaxing place to just sit & enjoy the food. You can also see people skating in the ring.

This place serves bread, salads, soups, and other food that cafes usually serve. It's more like a 'fast food' type of cafe, in a sense that you come in, form a line to pick & order your food, and pay at the end of the line.

The food is good. It's better than average. Even though I didnt try the salad, I heard it's pretty good. I ordered a bowl of french onion soup and a quiche. The soup was just ok, but the quiche was good.

La Madeline: Best Cafe

La Madeline is my new favorite place to eat. The locations are not gigantic but they always have room, although they do get busy during lunch. The tables and chairs are smaller and it just adds a very french feeling to it. It's very well done.

La Madeline serves food, then has a separate bakery and coffee counter. So if you want a great meal or just some yummy dessert this is your place. The food they offer is very light. You'll find a majority of soups, salads, quiches, and sandwiches. I've never found anything I hated. They have complimentary bread with butter and preserves while you're waiting or to eat with your soup or salad.

This is a chain so please check their website to find the one nearest you!

Favorite Dish I love their caesar salad, strawberries and sauce, bread. My favorite meal would be the Turkey Ciabatta melt. It's sliced turkey with swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, and honey mustard dressing all on ciabatta bread. YUM!!!!
Any of the desserts would blow your socks off. I can never resist the chocolate chip cookie :)

La Madeline: Fresh out of Oven

I love this cute cozy French bakery. They just seem to have special air. They have great selection of mouth watering pastries as well as free self-serving bread fresh out of oven.

Favorite Dish My favorites are combination of Caesars salad and tomato basil soup. Of course, with free bread followed by tiramisu or tart.
