Ocean Star Oil Rig Museum

The Offshore Energy Center operates this as a small museum with displays on shore and a retired off-shore jack-up rig showcasing modern drilling procedures and production, marine transportation, and environmental protection. A great opportunity to learn about the oil industry. Hours are 10 AM to 5 PM daily (4 PM in winter). Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for seniors (55 and up) and for kids 7 to 18, free for kids 6 and under.

Ocean Star Drilling Rig & Museum

The Ocean Star is the Offshore Energy Center (OEC) state-of-the-art facility. You can take a self-tour around the drilling rig seeing how life is lived and worked on a off shore rig. There are three decks of videos, equipment and exhibits on offshore drilling. It is set up like a museum with an educational 15 minute film which is a must see before you start your own tour.

Winter Hours: Daily 10am-4pm (Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas)
Summer Hours: Daily 10am-5pm (Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas)
