    Independence Rock

A notable landmark on the wagon trip west during the westward migration. Most wagon trains camped here on the way across the prairies. A portion of the original wagon road is still visible on the walk to the rock. Most of the names once carved here have long since eroded away.

Did you ever wonder what it would be like to pack up all your things and walk across the country? Well, you have a chance to have a taste. Put your lunch in the handcart and walk along a 1 mile trail. The LDS missionairies will help you get started and share stories if you'd like.
