Favorite thing The widest in the world ... looks great....the first time i saw it i was attonished wow!! such a wide place and long at the same time...wider than Champs Elysées in Paris and crowded by cars going up and down from Constitucion to Retiro...it means that cross all the lity long and then it becomes in a motorway
The avenue is overwhelmed by great buildings for dozen and dozen of blocks, the best attraction is the obelisc in Plaza Republica croosing other important avenue, Corrientes
Favorite thing The city's most traditional monument. A meeting point for every visitor. It lifts 67,50 meters in the intersection of Corrientes Ave. and 9 de Julio Ave. There's a 206 steps stairs to climb up to the roof.
The 9 of July Avenue got that name from the date of Argentina's Independence Day. It's the widest avenue in the world and crosses through all the city.
Favorite thing see the Avenida 9 de Julio. The world's widest street. Especially recommended is to hang around some of the great cafes around the Obelisk and watch the world go by. Bs As is Paris Down under!!
Fondest memory Being invited to dance with a lovely lady at a tango bar. The bar was at San Telmo and it was in a working class hangout. She was gracious and very patient with me ;)
Favorite thing A must see is avenida 9 de Julio. It is the Worlds widest avenue with its stunning obelisk towering over the city. It is a beautiful street to stroll both in the evening and daytime with its elegant bulidings and parks.
Favorite thing take a walk at AVENIDA 9e DE JULIO - this is the main avenue in Bs As running North to South.
It has two remarkable sights: the Teatro Colon and the Obelisco. The other buildings are made colourful by the vast advertising signs on top of them. The avenue is said to be the widest in the world (although when I was in Beijing the Chinese claimed their Chang'an Avenue to be the widest). Whatever the truth is it is impressive. There is no way you can pass through the avenue during one green light at a pedestrian crossing, maybe this is why this avenue is said to be a pedestrian's nightmare. Anyway it's worth some time since this is the bustling heart of this lively and vibrant Argentine metropolis.
