    Be prepared!

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Lightweight clothing is best. Long sleeved shirts, tall socks so you can tuck your pant legs into them, a hat and sunglasses; a lightweight jacket and a rain jacket. I took a netting thing that covered my face. Not necessary, but nice for night outings when the others were slapping mosquitos. And you need a pair of shoes or boots you can get muddy. (Sandals are not a good idea!)

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Bring lots of mosquito repellant; Take your malaria pills; bring any prescription or non-prescription medications you might need. You won't see a drugstore for a week. You will need sunscreen too.

Photo Equipment: More memory cards or film than you think you need. You will use it.

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Camping gear isn't needed. There may be an opportunity to swim in the river, so bring a suit if you want to do that. Bring binoculars for birdwatching.
