Cheap,luxurious hotel
Unique Quality: This was a very lovely hotel situated in a business area of Century City. However, because we wanted to go to two things we did not need to stay in the downtown area of Chengdu. We caught a taxi to the main bus station and to the Chengdu Panda area.
The room was luxurious, clean and had all the other essentials. We also had two buffet meals for 158 Yuan each which we thought was very good value. Recommend. Room rate 300 Yuan. Only problem internet 2 Yuan a minute.

Good choice for Tianfu Software Park business
Situated at a 30 minutes taxi ride from the center, Holiday Inn is a perfect accommodation for people in business trips linked to the Tianfu Software park (20 minutes walk).
Stayed there twice, last time during the May earthquake, and I was really impressed by the way the hotel personnel handled the situation in the evening after the quake. Even though frightened, as everybody else, they were willing to help, we got water, blankets, food and, what is most important, proper information. The general manager of the hotel was there, talking to us about current status, encouraging guests and supporting us.
Apart from that, one thing I didn't really like was that the rooms were at times noisy (mainly because of outside work).
Restaurants are ok, with a plus for the Sphere cafe and a minus for the chinese restaurant, where the service was rather lousy for non-chinese speaking people (even though the food excellent).
Unique Quality: Personnel was professional and brave, in the hard circumstances.
