A taste of Tibet
I love House of Shambhala since the moment I stepped in. It is exactly what I had on mind. Rustic, colorful, very traditional and beautifully decorated.
Bathrooms are nice, also maintaining the rustic style. Shower had nice lights that kept me warm while taking the shower.
As soon as we got there we were received with a Masala Tea !!! Can't be better welcome for us.
Hotel included breakfast that is basically the same everyday but the lady from kitchen who is so nice would make changes if asked in advance.
The best thing is the roof. Nothing better than after trekking to Potala Palace get to the hotel go to the roof order some Bailey's and relax with the view.
I totally recommend this hotel, ask for room 204 if you want a great big space to stay in. Room 203 has a different lay out but is comfy.
Little things to improve to be a 100% boutique hotel if you compare it with others around the world but nothing that wouldn't stop me to go back there again.
Unique Quality: Great view from the roof.
Good and fresh breakfast and food restaurant.
Nice Tibetian style decoration that is all made on their workshop by disabled artists.

Most Unique and exotic in Lhasa!
I highly recommend this hotel because of its unique atmosphere and location. All though it is very Jokhang Monastery and the center of town, it is tucked away on a side street and you can barely tell it is a hotel. Very small but words cant describe the decore. Please see the photos. Down side is that the rooms do not have any windows. But how the room looks I believe makes up for it.
Unique Quality: Please see the photos.
