A good place
This was a big but not so centric hotel with Tibetan owners and decoration. I’ve read that it was the first 5 starred hotel of Lhasa. It was a huge modern building, with nice and clean rooms, desktop computers and internet connection in all rooms, etc. We stayed in here twice, on our second and last days in Tibet. First, our pc was not working and we had a stuck window. PC wasn’t so important; even we hadn’t any communication with our families for 10 days. But the window was a huge problem because of the freezing weather at nights. We tried to close it; we wanted help from front desk but couldn’t solve the problem. Some young girls came and went for helping us and at last they decided to change our room. We removed the partly unpacked stuff to our new room on the same aisle.
The last day, our flight was very early so our guides arranged an early breakfast. We woke up, packed, got down and found nothing! They forgot to prepare breakfast for us. We waited and a so-so buffet breakfast prepared. We had a quick snack and left. Our cool guide was extremely angry when she heard about the incident.
Except some problems here, it was the best hotel we stayed in Tibet. The rooms were great with large, comfy beds and amazing bathroom. Unfortunately their dinners or breakfasts weren’t so good. It isn’t on a walking distance but not very far from Barkor Bazaar. We took a taxi from Barkor to hotel and it didn’t cost much.
You can see a picture of Simbo, the rock ogress at the lobby of this hotel. It was pictured as lying on her back and geomantic temples were drawn on her body. There is a souvenir shop on the right of front desk, if you are interested.
Unique Quality: All rooms have desktop PC. Bathrooms were great.
