Nagoya Youth Hostel

I had an enjoyable time staying at the JPY2000 a night youth hostel located on top of a hill close to Higashima Zoo and botanical gardens.

This is one of the cleanest and most well run hostels I have stayed in on my travels and although the staff are fairly strict (the 11pm curfue being a prime example!) I found this a convenient base during my stay in Nagoya.

There is an extra charge of JPY200 for clean sheets (which are changed every three nights) and breakfast is not included in the price. There are, however, basic facilities and vending machines available.

I highly recommend this hostel.

Unique Quality: The bathroom is fantastic! Clean and spacious it even has its own (huge!) communal bath. There is a seperate one for the ladies on the 2nd floor.

We chose Nagoya Youth Hostel because there is no member card needed to stay in here. Everybody can stay at here with same price as member.

This hostel is clean, have good service, and the bathroom (japanese style share bathroom) is quite big.

A little bit late to book this hostel. We only could stay 1 night in here for the next days already full booking because of the public holidays in here.

Unique Quality: Although it's located in town, but around this hostel just like a forest (you can enjoy the natural though). We arrived at night in here, and you can imagine that not many ppls walking in the street, and we have to enter a dark silent place... hmm quite afraid ^^;;

Directions: 8 mins walk from Higashi Yama Kouen St. Exit no 2
Turn left from exit and when you see the Higashiyama Zoo, cross the road.
Prepare to climb up quite high stair to the hostel.
