International ATM!
by machomikemd
There are Limited International ATM Sites in Seoul, your best bet will be at big banks, big department stores and at the subway. Be Sure to look at the screen when withdrawing since they have signs for english. If the screen has no english sign that says international atm card at the ATM Screen, then the ATM Doesn't Accept International ATMS (like Cirrus, Maestro, Plus, Discovery, etc.)
Go shopping!!!!!!!
by Babybeary
Seoul is a wonderful place for shopping. Dongdaemun, Namdaemun, Itaewon....The city is so alive even during the midnight. You can shop as well as view the street performance. Shopping wise, there is so much choices, stalls on the street or levels and levels of shops in shopping centre. Hey!!! Check out the lady on the right hand side. Cool hah!!!! : )

The Korean Wave is the name for the phenomenon of Korean popular culture. A tour of Korea will be a wonderful chance to visit these filming locations and experience diverse aspects of Korean culture.
The legacy of conflict
by sjvessey
One of the first things you notice here, and something which becomes more apparent the more you come to know Korea, is how deeply everyone in the country was, and remains, affected by the Korean war. Only recently did I discover just how close the North came to winning that conflict, and with compulsory military service, there are a lot of guys in uniform here. Not to mention the 10,000 people who work at Yongsan US Army Base, which takes up a huge chunk of real estate in central Seoul. But then, you've essentially got a (potential) war zone only 30 miles north of the city. The police carry M16 rifles and wear kevlar helmets, and in the west near Incheon, the entire coastline is fenced off with a barbed wire-topped mesh fence, to try to keep out infiltrators.
See my North v South travelogue for related photos and information.
still cold in the months of february and march
by uysijessa
i visited korea at the end of february/beginning of march. at that time snow was still covering the mountains and falling every now and then. it was still quite cold which is why i strongly suggest you bring thick sweaters/coats, mittens/gloves and caps/bonnets. thermal underwear are sure to keep you warm too!
