Good Value Good location
I really enjoyed my stay at this not so expensive hotel, service was good and 24 hours, most staff spoke English, close to busses, train and shops and hop on hop off bus stop.
Room was clean, bathrooms clean. great views. I include 5 pictures . I walked from the gare du Nord station so you can do that if you dont have too much luggage.

Good Value Good location

Hotel avenir. A good hotel?
Hello,
I am going to be in Paris with my girlfriend in January 05. I am looking for a nice hotel with double room for about 50 Euro (or less!)
A friend recommended the Hotel Avenir near the sacre coeur. Can anybody tell me if this is a good area and good hotel? Is it easy to get around Paris from there? Or can anyone recommend another hotel?
Your help would be appreciated.

if only you are using train, from train station you get out from the back, there you can see a lot of hotel not a 1 or 2 stars but 3 and the like, this will cost 36euro only, we check in last sept 2004 at "hotel de europe" affordable.......but its up to you if you are looking for more of amenities..........this price can offer sleeping and small cafeteria

I can't tell you anything about the Hotel Avenir, but I can recommend you two hotel in this area:
The cheapest one is the Hotel Sofia, http://www.hsofia.com/ It is a nice 1 star hotel located from steps to a Metro station but in a calm street. The hotel is really clean and nice. Prices are good for Paris, and the staff is really helpfull.
The other one is the Timhotel Montmartre, http://www.h-montmartre.com/, a nice 2 stars hotel more confortable than the Hotel Sofia.It is situated in the area of Amelie Poulain.It is situated in the typical area of the old Montmartre. The hotel is really clean and nice. People there are really nice.

Hi!!!
I never heard about the Avenir Hotel but I better know an hotel located near Grands Boulevards, the Hotel Sainte Marie (www.hotelsaintemarie.com ) . This hotel is a one star hotel and very well located because of its proximity to Grands Magasins and it is also near a metro stop.
The staff is really friendly and the rooms are OK for a 1 star hotel!
