soon to be in paris with my wife...not enough money to stay in hotels...
looking for help choosing nice (private?) hostels?
also in nice?
many thanks travelers! bennie
Try the Auberge Internationale des Jeunes, a fine centrally located hostel at 10 rue Trousseau just five minutes from the Bastille. By all means avoid the squalid, teeming lice-infested hovel which is the Hotel Aviatic in the Quartier Latin.
Take a look at www.hostels.com .
Nice isn't nice at this time of year - too hot, too crowded.
Hotels might not be more expensive than a hostel. I used to stay in hostels when I travel around Europe with my husband. But nowadays, we go for hotels cos they might not be more expensive than the hostels.
For hotels in Paris, I would recommend you to try www.ratestogo.com. I paid Euro43 for a double (ensuite room with TV) with breakfast in a 2 star hotel.
Having a quick look on the search engine.. I have found this and perhaps you will be interested: http://www.kasbah.com/hostels/hostels.asp?hostel=Paris
The rates are quite good and cheap :-)
Good luck in your search.. And enjoy Paris.
