9th Arr. hotel
This hotel was recommended by a friend who said it was reasonable for rates and right by a metro station. They have internet rates (70 - 90 euro for a twin or double) that also include a continental breakfast. Can accomodate families up to 4 in a room. Hotel has 33 rooms, lift, breakfast room, 24 hour reception and concierge services. All rooms have bath or shower, television, phone and mini safe. Will update further should we decide to stay here. It seems a nice place.

Hotel Cite de la Rougemont
A two star hotel.
The hotel is set in a quite street, but still in the centre of Paris. I stayed here quite some time ago, in 2000, but in doing some research for this tip have read some favourable reviews.
I liked the area, it was close to a lot of restaurants and a lot of the theatres too.
I went as a universtiy trip so there were three of us in an en-suite room, simple rooms, with wardrobe, bedside tables, nothing fancy. Though I have since read that they have been re-furbished to include television and hairdryers.
The hotel has 33 rooms
Checkout time is 12pm.
Breakfast is 6.00€
Overall I would say this is a cheap, simple option, with not many special extras.

1 person: from 74 to 86 €
2 people: from 88 to 98 €
3 people: from 108 to 120 €
4 people: from 129 to 149 €
Room with sink only from 42 €

Not one of the best hotel in Paris
Well, this hotel is not one of the best possible, but at least we found a place to stay in a pretty busy period (September). We have done the reservation with 2 month before, so if you would like a better place to stay, you have to do it with few month in advance. From the airport CDG to this hotel you will pay almost 50 dolars if you will take the taxi. If you really prefer to take the metro (after an intercontinental flight), then it will be much more cheaper (~2US$).
Unique Quality: The main point is that the metro station "Grand Boulevardes" is very close (2 minutes) and you will not have problemes to find the great spots by foot.
