Transfer from CDG to the city

by Dulebg

Dear friends,

I need your assistance as quick as possible.

My parents will arrive tomorrow at CDG airport at terminal 2D.
How can they reach the Ranelagh metro station?
Which lines should they use and can they buy some kind of week ticket usable for all means of public transport including that going to/from CDG?

How much can cost such ticket and can they buy it at CDG?

Thanks a lot guys!!!

Cheers,
Dusan

The website www.ratp.fr has a good route planner in several languages.

Here is a possible solution by metro:

Go to: Aeroport Charles de Gaulle 2 TGV - RER (3 min on foot)

Take RER B
Direction: Massy-Palaiseau
as far as: Saint-Michel Notre-Dame
(36 mins)

There, get off and take RER C
Direction : Pontoise
as far as: Boulainvilliers
(16 mins)

Go until: Ranelagh - Metro on foot (8 mins)

Other solutions are possible.

If you click on the UK flag on www.ratp.fr, you see the banner of the Paris Visite travel card. Click on "Presentation" and you'll find all the needed information. There are different prices depending on the number of days and the number of zones.

Finding peace amid the hustle and bustle

by shrimp56

I imagine I would feel differently if we had visited Le Train Bleu [the famous restaurant in Gare Lyon] when it is crowded, but for us it was a wonderful respite from the cacophony of the station. Since the bar area was full, they seated us in a section of the restaurant where we could see the wonderful Belle Epoque decorations. The patterns and traditions of civility found in the cafes and restaurants. The rules may seem arbitray from time to time, but they make French dining & drinking the leisurely and serious matter it is.

Museums card

by -deja.Ismael

Tthere is a Museum/monument card which allows you to visit any monument or museum you want, even to repeat a visit. There are cards of 1 day, 3 days, 5 days, and they are really whorty.

For example, the last time I visited Paris, the entry of Versailles costed up to 20 Euros. A card for one day (allowing you to visit Versailles, not to wait 1 hour in the queue, and perhaps visit some more places, if you have time after) costed 15 Euros.

They also include a small guide of places, visitable with the card, which can be useful to give you some ideas. It can be bought in Tourism Offices, Metro stations and all the Museums included on its list.

Packing List

by yakacik

You should go to Paris with several credit cards and empty luggages. then make good shoppings from different places and fill them ..Dont forget to apply for tax risturn on your purchases so you will get back about 20 % of what ever you will have spent.

Then make a donation with this to your favorite help foundation...
