Beware
by Summer33
I would recommend walking the steps up the eiffel tower. I didn't have the chance to cause I was with some older folks but wish I had. Also beware of the lines you just might get someone behind you that doesn't understand what a "personal bubble" is. Perhaps it's just me being American but I can't stand it when people stand too close, it's very awkward especially when waiting in line for good amount of time.
Whatching the Year 2000 Countdown on Eiffel Tower.
by aliante1981
During one of my trips, that was in spring of 1999, there was a huge electronic clock installed on the tower, counting days till Year 2000. And each evening -- at least each of those I've spent in Paris (but they were no different from any other set of evenings) -- a crowd gathered to watch the amount of days left changing at midnight sharp, and cheering.
My only sad thought was that I could not come there for Year 2000 celebration itself. University exams, you know...
Sleepng Beauty is awoken by her prince :)

This stained glass window is found in Sleeping Beauty's Castle. It's a favourite for kids to run around and the stained glass windows situated around the castle depict the tale of Sleeping Beauty in a unique and splendid way. This is another example of the intricate detail and efforts gone to in the Park.
First, a book with pictures...

First, a book with pictures explaining the various French dishes will definitely help in the restaurants. Second, restaurants are not open for dinner until after 7pm. Third, everyone orders a bottle of water with their wines for dinner (as we learned on our last day there). Fourth, no need to tip 15% in restaurants as the tip and tax are ALWAYS calculated into the price of the dishes.
Packing List

Ahhh, April in Paris...
Rain. It rained the entire time we were there pretty much. We went April/May of 2001. It bothered me at first because I had brought all sorts of cute spring clothes, but after awhile I got used to the weather and just enjoyed bundling up and ducking into cafes when the rains became torrential (as they did quite often).
