  • Excellent location and value for money

I had a wonderful stay in this little hotel. The rooms are small however you get what you pay for. The location is brilliant. You are walking distance to so many major attractions! The price is reasonable compared to other budget hotels in Paris. The staff were friendly and prompt to answer any enquiries. I booked directly with the hotel as they had a offer. I will stay here again when I return to Paris.

    Convenient and Cheap

This is a very basic 2 star hotel located off rue De Rivoli, one of the main shopping streets in Paris. The drawback to this is one can hear all the noise from the street, particularly if you are a light sleeper. If your budget is somewhat limited, the choice and location are right. If you can spend a bit more, I would not recommend this hotel then due to the reasons mentioned.

Unique Quality: The best single quality of this hotel is its location, just a few blocks from the Louvre and within easy reach of the rest of the city via Chatelet, one of the largest Metro stations in all of Paris.

Well Paris is a tough place...

Well Paris is a tough place when trying to find a hotel. There are so many hotel and they range from super nice to super bad. The first time I was in Paris I stayed at the Hotel Flor Rivoli. Umm...I wouldn't stay there again even though it was relatively inexpensive and the location was not too bad. It was a very short walk to the Louvre.

The second time I was in Paris I stayed at Le Hotel Jardins d'Eiffel. This was still relatively inexpensive (maybe a little more) but the hotel was much nicer. At least the front desk clerk didn't sleep on a couch in the lobby at this hotel! It was a short walk to the Eiffel Tower and the Museum D'Orsay.

Hôtel de Ville

by Pieter11

The Hotel de Ville is a nice building, between the Centre Pompidou and the Notre Dame. It´s built in the end of the 19th century to replace the old one. That one was burned to the ground during a riot, that also destroyed the Palace of de Jardins de Tuileries. The architects were men called Battu and Deperthes, that also made space for the 136 statues that are place in and attached to the walls.

The Hotel de Ville always is a centre of happenings in the city. In the summer there is a beach-volleyball court, at Christmas-time there is a huge decorated tree, and all winter long there is an ice-skating court. The Place de l´Hotel de Ville also was the place where the people of Paris heared the bad news about the Olympics of 2012. Not they, but London was given the Games.

Re: Photo exhibition at Hotel de Ville

And as a bonus, you will get the gigantic photo of Ingrid Betancourt (the one on my ID) hanging on the front of the Hotel de ville to help remind that she has been kept as a hostage for 6 years...
