"Rushed to Paris landmark-Eiffel tower & Louvre"
We arrived in Paris Gare Du Nord by Eurostar on 11May06.After checked into the hotel Jarry,we were so excited to see the great Louvre & Eiffel Tower.The first sight of Louvre was fantastic.We cant wait to proceed to see the Eiffel Tower.Standing at the foot of Eiffel Tower was just like looking at giant King Kong at his foot.We walk around Eifffel tower from afternoon to dusk to night.The view of Eiffel tower was so beautiful in different time and angle.It was such a great first day visit of Paris.
"Les Halles,Pompiduous Centre,Notre Dame&Montmartre"
We went to Les Halles,Pompiduous Centre,Notre Dame,Louvre& Eiffel Tower.The architecture of Les Halles shopping centre and Pompiduous are worth a visit.One of the finest example of gothic architecture we visited is the Notre Dame Cathedral that stands magnificent beside Seine river .The west side is adorned with carvings and east side is the best flying buttress.Walk around the Notre Dame give us a different and wonderful view of this building.The inside of Notre Dame is nice especially the two magnificent rose windows coloured in imperial purple when the sunlight transmit thru.We went to Louvre for few snapshots and then "climbed" the giant Eiffel Tower.It was a great experience to take the stairs up to 1st & 2nd level of Eiffel Tower and but a ticket to take a lift to top level.The view of Paris from Eiffel Tower is splendid,360 degree view!We sat in front of Eiffel tower for the night light show.
During the 3rd day,We went to Sacré-Coeur Catholic basilica,Montmartre which is a must go place!It is a very large white building with several domes of various sizes, built high on a hill and is one of the best view over Paris city.A visit to the nearby artist street is another great joy.We chit chat with a Taiwanese artist who was one of the best artist there.we visited the Moulin Rouge,opera theatre and enjoyed the reat night light show of Louvre.We also walked along Champs Elysees a shopping street and had a glance on Invalides,Petit Palais,Grand Palais,Musee D Orsay.
During 4thday,we went to local market,Bastille opera house,pantheon.We also visited the famous artist Picasso Museum.We strolled along the Jardin(garden) Du Luxembourg,Jardin Tuileries&Jardin Plantes.We walked up to top of Arc de Triumph and had a great night view over the city.
During the 5th day,we visited to Disneyland Paris.Although this Disneyland is small but is worth a day visit.The place like small world,haunted house,pirates of the Carribean was so impressive.You will get a boat trip into this places.
During the 6th day,we visited the la defense area where these buidings are mostly high rise & contemporary 20th century office buildings and apartments.We love the grand Arch in La Defense.We then went to Catacombs a place where human bones are piled to 2m hight and burried underground. The walkthrough ways took us 45minutes.It was great experience to walk thru this creepy and cool place.we also visited Chinatown to taste chinese food there.A good compliment is that French food is really nice almost everywhere.
During the 7th day,we visited the Louvre Museum for half day.The sculpture,paintings are my favourite.We then visited the Stadium where The final footbal UEFA 2006 (Barcelona VS Arsenal ) are held here.There are lots of English & spanish supporter here.We couldnt get a ticket inside the stadium to watch the match.We took metro to back to hotel & took the Eurostar train back to London.What a fantastic trip!
