Kyriad Paris Montparnasse: Convenient Location/Nice Neighborhood

View from Tour Montparnasse - close to the hotel.

L' hotel Kyriad Montparnasse's best feature is its proximity to the Pernety Metro station. Pernety turned out to be a clean and safe station. I was able to catch a train from the Eiffel Tower at midnight, and arrive safely to Kyriad.
Photos of the rooms are pretty true, however there is no air conditioning. Still, the temperature in the room was very comfortable this July. The rooms are very clean and modern. Misleading is the photo of the bar area, as it does not draw the guest in at all. At no time did I consider having a drink in their lobby/bar area. Bring a European adapter - the front desk cannot provide one. Luckily, the front desk did have an iron available at no cost. Be careful stepping out of the tub; it's deeper than it appears. Finally, the walls are very thin, as one American guest kept me up until 3 a.m. yelling at her boyfriend in the U.S.
The staff is friendly and helpful, and depending on the time of day, you can find staff that speak English well. The breakfast staff, however, speak no English. One morning I went to the breakfast area to get a cafe au lait. The woman in the kitchen refused to give me a cup of of coffee. "Je voudrais une cafe au lait pour ma chambre." It may not be the best French, but how confusing is it? Instead, she sent a maid up to my room with an entire tray of food, for which I had to pay.
Should you choose to have breakfast, the kitchen area is comfortable and cozy.
Directions: Very close to Montaparnasse Tower and Montparnasse Cemetery. There are many cafes and Chinese take out places. You can get sandwiches and fresh fruit within 10 meters of the hotel.
