Elegant Comfort
We have stayed here twice and enjoyed it each time. The staff is very helpful. Rooms are charming; less expensive rooms are small but very adequate. Location is the best - near everything. View of the Seine from your window, but street noises blocked by double paned glass. Expensive, but worth it!

Metro Saint Michel
I am looking for a hotel that is within a 4-minute walk from the Metro Saint-Michel. Perferrably, along the river bank. I already know of Les Rives de Notre Dame, however are there other selections? Not interested in hostels. Under 200euros ($300 US) if possible, for 2 persons. Good view of Notre Dame or other? Thanks!

Good tips above from both.
It gets great reviews from just about everywhere. I've checked Les Degres out in the past just because of it's price (~ 95 eu/night for a single), location on a great little square in the 5th and the restaurant. Plus there is so much music / clubs and other good restaurants witin walking distance.
The only "gotcha" would be if you have a mobility / accessibility issue - Les Degres has 5 floors of winding stairs and no lift. But if stairs aren't an issue for you, I think the two folks above and everyone else at vt who recommends Les Degres are right on. Good luck!

p.s. Les Degres was the first restaurant I went to in Paris, nearly 30 years ago. I was last there on 31st December 2005 with my wife, a few months before our son was born. A very nice evening to remember.
