Very nice little hotel in the Latin Quarter. Easy to get to the metro stops, restaurants, cafe's and pubs close by.
Rooms are small but adequate.
Staff helpful.
Hi everyone! I'm interested in your thoughts as to whether it is better to pre-book accommodation (17 - 20 Dec) in Paris, or would it be perfectly fine to just wing it upon arrival?
I'm leaning towards winging it, so that I can see the place before accepting, maybe haggle a better deal. But is booking before arriving a better way to do it?
Interested......
I would book something in advance. Maybe it's just me, but I always worry around holiday times and in cities that are very popular with tourists. I doubt you will be able to haggle a deal unless the place has no customers at all, and would you want to stay in such a hotel?
You are not going to be long in Paris, so rather than waste time finding somewhere to stay, I'd pre-book; then you can check-in and then set off for your sightseeing. I agree that you would be very unlikely to manage to haggle on an hotel room. There are some terrific deals on the internet and these are usually much better than going through the hotel directly either on the web or in person.
I would absolutly not try and wing it. Paris hotels go quickly and at the dates you are planning to be there, I say definitly pre-book. Plus, I agree that you would be hard pressed to find hotels where you can discuss the price.
Like the other person said, it is a good idea to look on the internet. They always have some great deals.
For good hotel sites, here are three great sites that I have used in the past:

Another helpful site that I use before my trips to Paris is: youloveparis.com
Have a safe trip and enjoy!
Well, I'm back. I pre-booked on the internet the Hotel Moulin Vert in Paris, location Montparnasse. AWESOME! Great hotel, great location and friendly people. I'll be doing that again!
